Having a type A personality can be frustrating sometimes. While I love being organized and having things planned out, but when things happen — when life happens, it turns my world upside down.
It’s frustrating when it seems like my plans are falling apart in front of me or changing so fast that I can’t catch up. But that’s life, and fortunately, I am learning that life happens and situations will require me to adapt.
Life is about the journey. Journeys are defined as the travel or passage from one place to another. When you think about it, it can be mind-blowing to look at how far you’ve come over the course of a month. Or a year. Or five years. Life doesn’t allow you to be stagnant unless you’re dead. Even if it feels like nothing has changed in a week, when you look back on that particular week in a few months, everything is different. Tiny transformations take place in life every single day that work to create a larger, more beautiful picture. But with all of that being said, you have to be willing to embrace change.
Let go of the things that hold you back. Let go of the people who hurt you. There’s beauty in the struggle, but no reason to struggle for longer than you have to. It takes strength to cut off someone you love because they don’t have your best interests at heart. It can be painful to let go of a situation that makes you comfortable but doesn’t allow you to grow. Growth is what makes life great, even if it takes a little discomfort to get there. If you’ve made it this far, don’t give up. The blessing is coming, believe me. And it will be so worth it.
Embrace your journey; it’s what makes you, you. And when people don’t understand your life or your decisions, realize that it isn’t their life to understand.
Pressure creates diamonds, so when things get uncomfortable, I am teaching myself that something beautiful must be coming next.
Life is your greatest teacher. Stay on the journey and you will learn more about yourself than you ever thought there was to know. Never stop learning.
